Multiplying Light Program
Is an educational program that aims to increase health knowledge and enhance leadership skills among young people in poor communities. Eight educational sessions are presented on various health topics in each community.
The students take pre- and post-tests to measure the improvement of health knowledge. They are charged with leadership assignments to improve the health in their communities and work with Light A Candle doctors to carry out these roles.
Health topics in this program have included Hygiene and Disease Prevention, Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections, and Heart Health. Currently this program is delivered in 10 communities with 15-20 students graduating from the program in each community.
